QUALITY ASSURANCE GAME TESTER

As a Quality Assurance Game Tester, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the highest level of product quality in our software development process. You will play a critical role in upholding the standards for product excellence, identifying and addressing issues, and verifying that our product meets the desired quality benchmarks. Your dedication to quality, meticulous attention to detail, and expertise in testing and quality control will be instrumental in achieving success in this role.


This is a full-time, on-site position in the Nashville, Tennessee area working on a new PC/Console franchise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test incomplete versions of the game to detect defects; working directly with development team members to ensure the defects are fixed in a timely manner

  • Work together with production units on setting up test routines and test plans

  • Help establish, maintain and develop aspects of the QA pipeline and technical standards

  • Ensure review and playtest builds are functional

  • Distribute builds both internally and externally

  • Keep track and follow up warnings, memory reports and performance problems

  • Participate in design and cross discipline meetings to ensure QA priorities are taken into account with each feature or system

  • Conduct informal, on-the-fly testing as well as structured testing following predefined test plans

  • Regress bugs as they are completed by the development team

  • Test builds daily and flag any blocking issues immediately

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience as QA in a game development environment

  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, TestRail and/or other relevant test case management tools

  • Create clear and concise reports both in written and verbal form

  • Fluent in English both written and verbal form

  • Understanding in game creation and development process

  • Passionate about games

PLUSES

  • Experience with game engines and editors (Unreal Engine)

  • Experience in set up and use of 1st-party dev kits, documentation and tools

  • Knowledgeable with certification process and technical standards

  • Working with the rest of the QA team, help develop a test strategy and implement test plans and other test materials and documentation

  • Coordinate with External QA teams to facilitate larger scale test runs

  • Take the initiative to identify, prioritize, call-out, and suggest solutions to problems both big and small

  • Share your thoughts about how to level up the QA discipline across the company to make the company a better place to work, improve the development process, and help deliver amazing shared gaming moments to players
