SENIOR CHARACTER ARTIST
Job Description
Traega Entertainment is looking for a Senior Character Artist with the artistry to invite players into new worlds and breathe life into the living things that make them matter.
This is a full-time position in the Nashville, Tennessee area working on a new PC and console franchise. We understand that the COVID-19 outbreak has implications that may delay the ability to relocate for some candidates. The safety of our employees and their families come first, so we will remain flexible about working from home. We will continue to monitor the situation, but the expectation is that you will come and work with us in our new and spacious studio in the Nashville area when it’s safe to do so.
Responsibilities

Create exquisite high poly models of characters, creatures, vehicles, equipment, and props

Creation of game ready meshes with efficient UV layouts

Authoring thoughtful textures and materials

Actively collaborate and communicate with other departments

Importing optimized assets to engine and maintaining them through iteration

Mentor other artists
-
Help refine character creation pipeline to find efficiencies and maximize quality
Qualifications

Proficiency in industry standard software such as ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter and related tools

Superb grasp of anatomy

Demonstrated ability to work with organic and hard surface forms

Firm understanding of PBR workflow

Excellent ability to create highly efficient real time assets

Autonomous and proactive sensibilities
-
Developed communication skills and a desire to evolve and refine your craft
Pluses

Shipped titles in Unreal Engine 4

Examples of more than one artistic style

Experience with other areas of development

Perspective on shifting tools, workflows, techniques and quality bars in the industry
