SENIOR ENVIRONMENT ARTIST

As a Senior Environment Artist, you craft believable and visually compelling gameplay environments as well as manage and maintain environmental art outsource efforts as needed.

 

This is a full-time, on-site position in the Nashville, Tennessee area working on a new PC/Console franchise. 

We understand that the lingering effects of the COVID-19 outbreak may delay the ability to relocate for some candidates. The safety of our employees and their families come first. We continue to monitor the situation, the expectation is that you will come and work with us in our new and spacious studio in the Nashville area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generation of high-quality 3D art from concept and design ideas including props, architecture, and terrain models

  • Creation of game ready meshes with efficient UV layouts

  • Development of efficient textures and material shaders for real time PBR rendering

  • Mentor other artists in production techniques and mentalities

  • Facilitate art content development and feedback to outsource partners on assets

  • Coordinate and work directly with internal and external groups to ensure that deadlines are met

  • Integrate outsourced assets directly into project pipelines, making any required fixes to the assets

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • AAA game development experience

  • Ability to craft environment and level related meshes, materials, and textures within an Unreal development pipeline to maintain a visual style and optimal performance

  • Demonstrable expertise with PBR, lighting, and material authoring

  • Expert understanding of Substance Tools, ZBrush, Photoshop, and Maya or similar content authoring packages

  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine

  • Strong technical ability to manage and plan assets to achieve desired results within engine constraints

  • Professional experience and understanding of Houdini, World Machine or similar content authoring packages

  • Comfortable working quickly within an iterative development process

  • Perspective on industry changes in technology, tools, techniques, and workflows

  • Ability to lead small teams
